Club Officer Roles

A Brief Description of Toastmasters Club Officer Responsibilities

President

The President of the Club is its chief executive officer and will be expected to preside at all Club meetings and at all regular and special meetings of the Executive Committee. It is this officer’s challenge to see that the Club enables its members to achieve their educational goals and to help the Area, Division, District, and Toastmasters International to meet their goals.

VP Education

The VP Education plans successful meetings to help members achieve their educational goals, orients new members to the Toastmasters program as soon as they join, and monitors members' progress.

VP Membership

The VP Membership conducts ongoing membership-building programs, explains the educational program to prospective members and asks them to join, and follows up on new members and absent members

VP Public Relations

The VP Public Relations promotes the Club to the local media, spreads the word about membership programs, and attends Toastmasters events.

Secretary

The Secretary keeps an accurate record of the members, submits the officer list to Toastmasters International after the election, and keeps the club charter, constitution, bylaws, and minutes.

Treasurer

The Treasurer collects dues from the members, sends the dues and the membership renewal reports to Toastmasters International, and pays the Club's expenses.

Sergeant at Arms

The Sergeant at Arms makes sure that all supplies and materials are properly distributed or displayed at meetings, greets guests and members, and calls the meeting to order at the scheduled time.
